MiscAutism Acceptance
Some people assert that autism is not a disorder and it is offensive to look for a "cure". If your autism is not a disorder, that's fine. If you took the DSM criteria for antisocial personality disorder, you'd find they appear to fit a lot of lawyers, business people and politicians. Disorder is not about fitting criteria, but whether you need support to live your life. My family is full of quirky, curious, intelligent people. And there are a few people who need a lot of support. I realize these may be two sides of one coin. Being accepting of who you are can be a good thing. So is hoping to improve your situation in life. |
